William Richardson, M.D., is a Board certified ophthalmologist, an eye M.D. He founded Georgetown Eye Care in 2007 as a solo practitioner. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Kentucky. His practice interests include general ophthalmology and medical glaucoma, dry eye, and cataract surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Kentucky Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Richardson's collegiate experiences include a bachelor's degree from Cornell University, with a focus in molecular genetics, and a medical degree from the Ohio State University. During residency, he performed National Institute of Health sponsored research in ophthalmology and studied optical dispensing with Dennis Peck of Peck Opticians in Lexington -- one of the most highly respected opticians in the area.
In his free time, Dr. Richardson is active in the Optics and Electo-optics Standards Council and is one of two active US Delegates to the International Standards Organization (ISO) TC172SC4 optical technical committee. This committee develops standards for telescopic weapon sights, holographic sights, thermal imaging, binoculars and spotting scopes. Dr. Richardson is committed to developing practical standards that respect eye safety and are relevant to the user.

2010, 2016 News-Graphic Reader's Choice Award Winner and 2011 KAEPS Ophthalmologist of the Year, he will deliver the personal attention that you deserve. Dr. Richardson believes that all patients deserve to see their physician before, during and after any procedure. After surgery, you will see your surgeon for post-operative care. He has dedicated his career to providing full-time eye care in Georgetown with surgical services offered at Georgetown Community Hospital.

Stefanie Adams, O.D., was born and raised in the small town of Fort Loramie, Ohio. She studied Biology at Ohio Northern University for three years before attending optometry school. Dr. Adams received her Bachelor of Vision Science as well as her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2011. She successfully completed a rigorous clinical rotation at the University of Kentucky Ophthalmology Department in her senior year before graduating magna cum laude. Dr. Adams moved to Lexington in 2011 to work at an optometry group practice. She joined us in 2013 after determining that she wanted to be with an ophthalmology group. Dr. Adams understands that patients deserve safe and quality care, and she is against educational short-cuts. She will deliver the same personal attention that patients are accustomed to at Georgetown Eye Care. We are very fortunate to have her!
Jim Gullett, M.D. joined the practice in August 2013. He completed his medical training at the University of Louisville and his surgical training at the University of Kentucky. He received numerous accolades from his surgical peers. We are very fortunate to have Jim as part of our team. Dr. Gullett's practice interests include general ophthalmology with a focus in cataracts, diabetes, and macular degeneration. He is a member of the Kentucky Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology . He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
You will see Dr. Gullett before, during and after any surgical procedure. He is dedicated to providing full-time eye care in Georgetown, with surgical services offered at Georgetown Community Hospital.
